The Banana and Strawberry finger bread has always been Isaiah's favorite thing to eat after dinner for dessert or first thing in the morning with his French toast.
I started Baby Led Weaning at 7 months old when Isaiah was sitting up all by himself. I wasn't able to try a lot different foods because Isaiah didn't have any teeth until he turned 1 but I always tried soft muffins or breads and he loves them! It doesn't just have to your child that eats this, moms and dads can enjoy this finger bread just as much as their little ones.
INGREDIENTS:
Pre heat oven to 350F
1. In a bowl mash the bananas and strawberries using a handheld electric whisk. You may want to mash the strawberries using a fork, it works best with strawberries that are soft.
2. In a separate bowl add the flour and the baking soda. Add the fruit mixture, apple sauce, vanilla extract. Slowly add the water into the mixture and whisk using the electric whisk until it becomes a semi thick consistency.
3. Grease a 9x5 loaf pan and pour the mixture in and bake for 35-40 mins
TIP: Pierce a fork through the middle of bread after it has been baked and if it comes out dry, your bread is cooked. Let it cool and slice into finger slices and enjoy!
Hope you enjoyed reading this recipe and happy baking!
